Stability in a Sea of Change
Pro-Oceanus Systems Inc. provides world-leading technology in our line of
advanced dissolved gas sensors. Each of our instruments has been developed
to ensure stability and accuracy in a package that can be integrated easily
for use in laboratories, deployed on moorings, gliders, buoys, and in underway
mode on shipboard.
Why measure dissolved gases?
Measuring dissolved gases in natural waters provides critical information
for monitoring biological production, understanding the dynamics of greenhouse
gases, surveying the distribution of pollutants, and determining the behavior
of gases in sensitive ecosystems.
The oceans are a critical component of the earth's climate
system. While they help regulate climate, there is also real concern that
they will be affected by climate change. As the oceans are an integral component
of the earth's biological cycle, changes may disrupt their role as a rich
source of food and other resources and impact their ability to help regulate
the atmosphere's chemical composition.
At this time of increased environmental awareness, both scientists and government
institutions recognize the importance of understanding how the oceans perform
their functions and the need for obtaining base-line data. Equally important
is long-term monitoring to determine how the oceans are changing as the
climate changes.
PSI is committed to providing superior dissolved gas sensors to the scientists
conducting this vital research.
